Description
The Atwood Mansion was built in 1893 for Kimball C. Atwood in Oradell NJ. This large shingle style mansion was designed by Frederick Wesley Wentworth, a local New Jersey architect. Atwood was a successful inventor and the head of many large Insurance Companies. The house and grounds were eventually sold to hiram Blauvelt in the 1920's. Blauvelt converted the carriage house into a museum dedicated to art that celebrates nature and animals.
